Your purpose…
This position offers a great opportunity to be part of an incredible team of industry leaders in stock photography and videography. Reporting to the VP of Technology and working closely with the UX Director, you will be responsible for contributing to the overall quality and development of Stocksy’s online user experience.

          Hours: 9am - 5pm PST, Monday to Friday  

          Job Type: Full-time employee

          Location: Stocksy HQ (Victoria, BC) 

          Anticipated start date: March 2020

You are...

  • Super passionate about producing great user experiences.
  • Highly motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming.
  • An excellent communicator who enjoys collaborative, team-based environments.
  • Someone with a knack for finding creative solutions to complex problems.

You have...

  • 1+ year of Front End Development experience creating quality user experiences.

  • Knowledge of front-end design patterns, libraries, and code including CSS, HTML and Javascript.

  • Experience using industry standard tooling and practices, git, peer review, Atlassian products (or equivalent) etc.

  • Photo/Video processing experience.

You might also have...

  • Experience with designing user interfaces using prototyping software (Sketch/InVision).
  • Experience executing effective A/B tests.
  • Front-end framework experience (Backbone/Marionette/React).
  • Docker experience.
  • PHP experience.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases.


  • Help build, test, and ship user-facing code using modern tools, including reusable components, and front end libraries.

  • Contribute to our culture of continual learning and personal development.

  • Translate designs, wireframes, and business requirements into high-quality code.

  • Contribute to the creation of new site features from specification through to shipping.
  • Optimize code to ensure it is rendered consistently, accessibly, and efficiently in cross-browser environment.
  • Work effectively within a collaboratively minded, agile team.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams, including design, marketing, sales and technology.

  • Participate in and contribute to development team practices such as peer review, pair-programming, and test driven development to continue to grow our personal abilities and software standards.
